You should pin this up like you did with your wishlist. Remind people of it periodically.

People are not going to give money for ron to get a root canal. The majority of your readers can't stand him . Plus his drinking is a big reason you have no savings. Not to mention your excessive spending when you are manic. Case in point all the exercise equipment you bought and now don't use. Plus your refusal to get a paratransit pass for yourself for work. I believe your argument against it was that ron would stay at home drinking all day. Which he now pretty much does as work is only a few days a week. Plus you used to go out to eat everyday with him and now you don't go anywhere. I am still confused as to why your bathroom sink needed to be removed and why all your possessions were taken off site because of a 2 day water leak. Also why you need a new kitchen sink as you sink looked fine.

It may be more effective to add a shorts description of what happened, what insurance will and won't cover and how much you are out of pocket. Also, I would add some pictures of the damage, and maybe another of you and Ron.
May want to mention that you and your husband have worked all your lives despite both being disabled, and that this is the first time you have asked for help on a personal expense.
Also, frankly I think your readers will want some sort of reassurance that the money will go directly to you, and Ron won't have access to it. I would be hesitant to donate if I thought my donation would just be spent on Vodka.
Just some suggestions based on an outsider's view of the page. take them or leave them :)
Are you planning on posting the Go Fund Me on Facebook as well?

I spent maybe $150 on the stuff I got back in August. Most people spend that on a steak dinner, regularly.

I applied for paratransit and was denied because I am able to ride the bus on my own (that is the qualifier). We don't eat out at all now, I think you would see that as a good thing.

Water got under the bathroom sink, that's why they had to take it.

They took my dry stuff so the workers could work. This is standard operating procedure for water damage in Houston; put the stuff in storage.

The kitchen faucet has a serious leak and has for a while. At some point we will need to replace the faucet. That will not be covered by insurance of course. We will also need a new toilet, I was quoted $400 each on that if I supply the parts.

Your kitchen faucet should be taken care of by ron. Same with the toilet . He has the money just take it out of the vodka money. No excuse or reason to live with a water leak. You both need to have a house maintenance fund so you have the money to take care of things when they come up.

Not true you can get a pass just for work

"Pass just for work" WRONG. I don't know how they do it where you live but not in Houston. There are too many people riding as it is, the boat is sinking and the last thing they want are ANY riders who are capable of getting around on their own. If they are a real trainwreck, dialysis, yes but anyone else hell no.

If I have leftover money I plan to use it for the other home repairs but obviously not critical issues like the "recovery" right now.
