Baby Girl finished her beauty treatment

You can see where the mats were starting to pull at her skin.  Glad I did this.

Ron will certainly be able to tell her from the other cats.

That is terrible all because ron refuses to take care of her. Even an animal he claims to love he neglects.

That is so cool! She will be so much more comfortable.

He brushes her daily... I trim out mats as I find them. We just had mega-mat and I realized it's more humane to shave her than to pick at the mats all the time. She looks very happy to me, you normally don't see that expression unless she's with Ron.

She's adorable and will be very comfortable. That's all I care about, her comfort.

On Animal Cops they would order owners to take matted animals to be shaved so just following expert advice.

Looks more to me like where they cut her too close. I used to have those "accidents" when I groomed my Min. Schnauzer. You probably would have gotten a nicer cut at a groomer, but I understand why you went to the vet. They are not groomers though. It'll grow out nice and you'll never see the hack marks. LOL

Well, they had to cut her close with the matting. I think she looks cute, most important, comfortable and safely done. She had short rides, too. Hiding under the bed right now, though.

I don't care if they did a "hack job" as long as she is comfortable and safe. Ron was brushing her but I think after the mats developed. He said she really enjoyed it so I will get myself at least on that as her fur grows back.

Emotionally I don't know - she is very bonded to Ron - VERY bonded, to the point of crying all over the house when he has been in the hospital. So I would say it would be very upsetting to her if he dies first. She just wants to lie in bed with him, in his doorway, etc. I think lying down all the time may have been a factor in the mats.

But that's all gone now, she is comfortable and fresh and we will see how she grows back and needs another cut now and then. If she does, she does.

I will do whatever it takes for my cats to be happy and comfortable.

How did Ron react to how she feels now! LOL it must have been strange and funny to him like a fresh soft crew cut
I have never seen a shaved cat ! That is a great idea I bet by next week she will be all smoothed out like a fresh haircut takes a week to really look nice ..not that she does not look beautiful do not let me hurt her feelings she is absolutely darling

He did very well for some hours but woke me up in the middle of the night very distraught about her haircut. I reminded him SHE WAS MATTED.

His attitude was they should have only taken the mats.

The last time they did that she got a bigger mat right next to the old one, my motivation behind the whole shave.

He wouldn't hear it. When it is time to say good bye he is going to be a wreck. He never cried when his parents died or his family dumped him - but that is all coming out when BG dies. I will prepare myself. But we could have another 15 years out of her and he could die first.

I think she looks great and she is acting normally.

She does look great. Just tell him it will prevent skin infections. You know you did the right thing. She will be more comfortable and healthier.

Ron never brushes baby girl. Why are you saying that he does? You even posted that you were going to tell him he had to brush her everyday and now you are making it like he always brushes her.

"He woke me up in the middle of the night very distraught about her haircut."

WOW! More of him interrupting your sleep for stupid, drunken, nonsense. Tell him to shut the f--k up and talk to you when he is sober. He agreed to getting her shaved, then in his drunken stupidity he wakes you up to complain about it. What a loser. I really hope Baby Girl outlives him so you can see how damaging he was to her development as a cat.

Well, about the brushing. After she started to get knotted (my mistake) I asked him to brush her. He said I am. Daily? Yes, she likes it.

I did tell him to shut up and reminded him he greenlighted it several times, and I was very clear "Everything but the head and tail" - and asked him how I could have been MORE clear. That shut him up.

He made a comment about "ought to wake me" up every night because "did that to her" I said if he did I would leave and take her with me. He adores Baby Girl, but cannot do any of her care. So she is really my cat, on loan to him. He knows this.
