So I put Mama, Spotty, and Torbie out in the catio. They can visit with Cleo. I put Baby Girl in with Ron, they can console each other. They are still taking out drywall but progressing nicely.
The carpet in here is going away soon so that means I will need to move the computer at some point.
I do find it interesting that #6 always said he would be there to help in my time of need, and a water restoration truck has been parked in front of my house all week, a huge pile of debris in my yard, and not a peep out of him.
But I am sure he feels like he is just the nicest guy.
It was very odd when they took my sink (water got under it) so I have a toilet and a tub, thank God I have those 2. It looks like new carpet in all rooms save Rons - which is ironic because it probably "needs" carpet the most.
I dripped a BBQ hot pocket on my jeans but was able to dab it out, thank God. I don't want to do laundry any more than I have to.
So far very happy with the progress made and their dedication to the job.

Just get it added into the cost. It won't be that much more to carpet his room to but you really should ask about gettin tile instead of carpet. It really isn't that much more
You said, that Ron said his carpet was wet. If it was, why isn't it being replaced? Just because it dried a little? It will still have mold under it and in it. That is probably the biggest cause of migraines. MOLD. Maybe smoking to much of that pipe stuff has affected your judgement.
If you get a neutral carpet it will make it easier to get his room done also. If you want purple on your floor just buy an area rug in purple for the side of the bed and this way you have some purple carpet in your room but the carpet is the same throughout the house. Of course he will have to get rid of ALL his garbage in his room if it is going to get recarpeted. I would go with tile also. Then you won't have to buy a vacuum cleaner.
You said yesterday that #6 had shut your water off for you once before when you had a broken pipe in the yard. You also said that he told you that he would help you if you asked him.
You could have gone over and asked him to show you how to turn off the water when the leak first started. You did not. Instead you went to work and started calling around trying to get the water company out to do what #6 could have done for you super fast when the leak was first discovered. He probably could have identified the source of the leak, if you would have allowed him in your house, preventing most of your water damage.
He hasn't come to help you because you haven't asked him. When he saw Ron on the floor of the garage, you didn't ask him for help. You don't want him to be nosy and butt in needlessly, and he doesn't.
Your insurance company called to interview you about the timeline to ensure there is absolutely no reason they can deny the claim. Make sure your story is always consistent and don't let them talk to Ron ever. The story is the story is the story. Don't deviate ever and don't elaborate unnecessarily. Oh, and don't tell anyone there was a possum in the house.
Why do you care so much about “#6”? I thought they were evil animal abusers anyway? Why would you expect him to help you?
#6 made such a big production out of being the "good guy just ask for help and I'll give it".
I know how to turn off the water on my own, however, the water company has expensive electronic meters and they bolt the cover down, so I had to call the company to come unbolt it so I could turn off my water. I knew where the leak was and told the first plumber but he was very large and was not comfortable in the attic.
Also, the leak happened at night and I woke up to a soaked carpet, damage already done.
He does butt in, he tried to steal my driveway and had a tantrum when I said no.
I am actually thinking of having the concrete stained. I like it bare, actually, and that might be the best solution, easy care, waterproof, etc. We do not ever get that cold here so it would be fine walking barefoot.
Ron's carpet was never wet - he found a wet spot in the hallway and woke me up to inform me. His room and the kitchen are the only rooms totally untouched.
Don't you have a water shut off valve in the house that turns off all the water? If not it may be wise to get plumber to install when they do repipe
I do not have a valve in the house, only the one at the street. Ron and I have already decided to have one put in when we do the repipe.
