Computer guy said it's coming tomorrow, I'm OK with that.
I deleted two "white guilt" people off my Facebook. I have nothing to feel guilty about how I have treated the minorities in my life. Ron would quite vehemently state I have done nothing but good for him and express gratitude I have kept him out of a nursing home. I don't have to defend my racial attitudes.
The Mexicans may party hard and have some issues with property lines, but in a pinch they have all helped us out. All races seem to find Ron and I "cute" and people they want to help. That is huge for us. I have a hard time accepting help, though.
I believe #2 may be getting ready to move back into the house, I don't think I will have any issues. I have a regular yard guy, the house is maintained, we have decent insurance in case we have a claim, etc.
One thing we did when we got the insurance policy, almost 20 years ago: we did a much larger personal liability limit, which wasn't that much more than the baseline we were first quoted. So that is covered.
And they should be processing the renewal about now. I will be happy when we get the papers. One thing I am very pleased with myself I had the policy at the ready when needed.
I am cooking some lentils with sausage right now it will be tasty. They will be tasty. Because there is more than one lentil in my pot. :p
I am trying to get more "natural" fiber and not something out of a jar. Although lentils do not really have a ton of fiber according to the package. But they're quick.
Cooking, that is. I was happy to find "my" pinto bean seasoning at the Walmart. There are two, the one I frequent in person and the one that delivers. The one that delivers has products the first one doesn't. So I took advantage of that and got the Pinto Bean seasoning. Technically it is "Bolner's Fiesta Pinto Bean Seasoning". I used to use it when I made the "Ham-Bean" soup for the deli.
I would use 2 packages of Ham-Beens soup mix, a couple Tablespoons of the seasoning, and some cut up ham. One thing I really miss about cooking: Ron used to cut things up for me, he was great. I really miss that. He bought me a chopper but it's not the same.
Maybe I will get that over bed table and he could chop things while lying in bed. I did mention that to him and he remembered.
I had a taste of the beans they are very good I will definitely be stocking up on plenty of the pinto bean seasoning. It is an easy fix. I put 1 and a half tablespoons seasoning, 1/4 t salt, 3-4 ounces cut up garlic sausage, and a cup of dry lentils. Tasty.
The silicone spoonula was very useful and worth the $7 I spent. I got it in red I would like red kitchen accessories. I am doing that. It was good though did the job and didn't scratch.
We have a little wind but it is sunny we are on the dry side of the storm. I rolled up the exterior blinds yesterday and then Ron got overheated from the sun this morning "I thought I had the virus". He was OK once I rolled it down again.
Yes, "new curtains" are on the list. I will have Carlos put them up when he does the room. The beans are done I am going to let them cool before eating. Both Ron and I hate eating very hot food we prefer to let it cool some.
New computer tomorrow... that will be fun but a learning curve at it is a new OS. I don't think it will be horrible I just hope Libre office works on it because that's what I use for spreadsheets. Libre Office is a free download. It has worked well for my needs. I don't do much just basic calculations.
I got most of an accounting certificate back in CA I took all the classes but one before I moved, and then the Texas accounting courses were very different so I would have had to start over from scratch, basically, and make time for it when I was supporting us working full time WITHOUT transportation... so I never pursued it.
But I did teach Ron Excel which we found funny, as he had taught me DOS back in the day. He wrote the templates I just basically input numbers.
I will be downloading the office program, and Malware Bytes, that's about it I think. Ron bought me some lanterns which will be a good addition to my disaster kit. I didn't really have a good one and these are highly reviewed. I need to get some AA batteries but that's it.
Ron prepaid the gas bill for a few months... I need to pay the water bill.
It is bright, hot, and sunny today I imagine many on the Gulf coast are not experiencing that today. I actually like a nice hot summer, but I'm rare I think. We have the thermostat set around 85 and I am happy with it.
I am going to go dish up some beans.
