The most important thing

We stopped at a McDonald's on the way back and I got Cleo a burger.  I thought I would film her eating one and did just that.   Remember Cleo is the smaller cat with brighter colors, into the burger.  Mama cat wants to eat but doesn't want beef.

That is way too much meat for a small cat. Her stomach is only so small.

Cleo doesn't agree with you, and she always stops when full. She hadn't had hamburgers for days!

She doesn’t NEED hamburgers. And that’s not even real beef. That is so bad for her on so many levels. I don’t believe your vet “said it was ok”. I don’t understand what’s so hard about feeding them a healthy normal cat diet. Oh I thjnk I know, you are using food to make Cleo love you more than Ron.

Cleo needs hamburgers. You should see her look at me and meow - just a little squeak, every time I go in the kitchen.

Vet said it was OK occasionally just not to make meals out of it, and I didn't. She had eaten cat food when we got home. It is a plain burger so OK. Probably better than the cat food.

She needs to be Ok with me handling her which is why you see that in the video. I may need to take her to the vet emergently. I may need to evacuate the house in the event of a disaster. I may need to examine her, or give her medicine, flea treatment. We are not quite at that point but the burgers are helping.

I have Torbie and the other cats to love me. Torbie loves to put her claws on my face, up my nose every night. Biscuit sleeps with me nightly. Spotty occasionally sleeps with me. Mama cat is very friendly and loving with everyone. None of the cats likes to be picked up but some (Biscuit, Torbie) get in my lap and all (save Cleo) are OK being handled/examined.

You will also note I did not give her whole patties, just small bites and she walked away when full. She will walk away when done unlike some of the other cats.

This is so unhealthy. She will be obese and will lose her ability to walk away when full. They all will--the older cats already have. You feed them too much, and too frequently, and you make excuses for why it is ok. It isn't.

You could give her many things besides McDonald’s fake beef to get her warmed up to you. The good lunch meat from the deli (without the bad stuff in it), rotisserie chicken, etc. Try again.

The roast chicken is full of sugar, I would never feed that. I honestly asked the vet and she said the meat patty alone and dry was fine.

It is not full of sugar. You are absolutely insane with this.

They are not starving to death, abused, in the gutter. Overall, my vet is very happy with their condition and has said so. She was concerned about Biscuit but he has lost 2 pounds just this year and is doing well on his diet.

I read an article by a low carb diet expert, she said the stores were pumping the roast chicken full of a sugar solution and she no longer advised low carbers to eat the chickens as a result. I wouldn't give that to a stray much less Cleo.

Also SPICES. No good. The burger patty has no spice on it. You cannot tell me garlic, salt, and black pepper are GOOD for a cat.

"Schatzker explained that rotisserie chicken is usually processed, meaning the meat is "pre-seasoned in factories" and then sent off to supermarkets to be cooked by employees. A quick glance at the list of ingredients reveals that the tender meat often contains sodium, sugar, and even modified corn starch. Furthermore, the skin is usually flavored with MSG and more sugar—which explains why we can never seem to take just one bite."

You want me to feed that to MY BABY? Hell, no.

You think there isn’t msg in a McDonald’s patty? Per their website there re 6g of sugar and 450mg of sodium. Poor Cleo.

Cats are NOT supposed to eat garlic it is toxic to them. Also onion. So this includes any foods with these ingredients.
