Tuesday morning

Work was OK last night.  I felt like I gave Walmart their money's worth.  I came home and found this in the mail box.

I am on a very difficult route with a high turnover.  Sometimes they take the candy, sometimes they leave it, but obviously this mailman (assuming a man by handwriting) took exception.  He wrote on the booklet, which I will save for motivation.

After the rapture he is going to really wish he had that booklet but he does have my address and anyone is welcome to show up and help themselves to my stuff after the Rapture.

My phone didn't charge so I have it on the charger hoping I can get it up to 80% or so before I leave; I need the phone to clock in and out at work.

I made some very bad food choices last night so we will see in a day or so if I have any long term effects from that.  Part of it they had a pizza party because we hit a safety record.

I need to finish my pork chops so that's it for now.

It's actually illegal to put mail in yiur mail box that doesn't have postage on it. I am glad you finally have a mailman that asked you to stop doing this. It has nothing to do with the devil.

From the post office website.

The U.S. Postal Service would like to warn people that only authorized U.S. Postal Service delivery personnel are allowed to place items in a mailbox. By law, a mailbox is intended only for receipt of postage-paid U.S. Mail.

539 U.S.C. 3008 and 3010 and Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) C032 and C033. In 1934, Congress enacted a law known as the “mailbox restriction” that prohibits anyone from placing mailable matter without postage into any mailbox.

I wouldn't really call a baggie of candy "mailable" LOL. But I have also stuck a $5 in there now and then in the past so they took it. Kind of like the knothole in "To Kill a Mockingbird" I thought.

BUT I want to keep getting my mail so of course I will stop.

The point is that you are not supposed to be putting candy in the mail box like that per the regulations above. You are very lucky that they didn't stop delivering your mail to you for that. Glad you will stop doing that.

I started handing out candy in 2009 so most of my carriers had no issue.

If I see someone stocking the mailboxes I will absolutely walk over and offer them candy.

He wrote on the scripture booklet, that's probably what he had a problem with. They don't complain about cash and bottles of water.

That's what i'm thinking. What kills me is he had to take the booklet out and look it over before finding a "good" spot to write.

But I can't stand JW's so I get it.

What else was he supposed to write on? You can't write on the plastic so of course he took the propaganda booklet out of the package and wrote the note on it. Nothing mysterious about it.

Why would anyone give cash to the mailman? They get paid a pretty decent salary with benefits and certainly don't need money from you.

And with the way the world is anyone who would take a bottle of water from someone they didn't know is crazy. That water could be tainted for all they know.

The water I hand out is sealed in 16.9 ounce bottles from Walmart, nice and cold from the fridge. If I had a guest I was very familiar with I might offer them a drink from my filtering water pitcher OR a bottle of water.

Everyone likes cash.

And what kills me is he took the booklet out and HELD IT before giving it back. One time I had a really fun distribution I gave a driver (paratransit) a bag of candy, he looked through it, took out the book, opened it, read a line, stuck it in his pocket, closed the bag, and handed the candy back to me! That was fun.

And this is only one guy I'm not beating myself up over it. I did 10 bags of candy with booklets just this morning out running errands.

"Propaganda booklet" that shows the state of your heart, too.

At least (she?) is getting some faith exposure reading this every day, I figure. Hopefully seeing how God carries me will make an impact one day. I do pray.

Yes, they DO keep reading. ;)
