Just stick him in a nursing home already. Honestly the worse he gets physically the worse he is going to get to you. Instead of being grateful he is being resentful and pathetic.
I think I would be caregiver burned out by now, if I was you. I am from just reading about his cares...and I am a 24/7 caregiver and have been for over 20 years to a w/c patient. But, I do not have to worry about alcohol abuse, verbal abuse, or physical abuse. I still get tired and impatient once in awhile. I don't know how you do it. I think his quality of life might be better in a nursing home...he couldn't abuse alcohol then. He may also need some time to adjust to that before he hasn't any choice. Give it some thought...much love and prayers to you always. JJ
You can’t be serious? You don’t think Heather could get a job on her own? A place of her own, without the help of an alcoholic blind man in a wheelchair? Despite her illness she is smart and capable and doesn’t give herself enough credit. She doesn’t need Ron to survive.

Ron is such an amazing husband. You are so lucky to have him. Why would you want to stick him with a needle?

I agree, Heather is very lucky to have such a kind and caring husband like Ron. If it wasn't for him she wouldn't have a job and would be homeless.
