Dillusions of Grandeur
Heather if you really believe you are the center of persecution related to the Bibles you hand out
You are letting your delusions rule, not Satan, or God
A party on a Friday night at 9 am next door is NOT persecution it is pretty darn normal!
People party! Wow Heather you have let your religious delusions become justifications for life now?

Ps your husband drinking at 7 am isn't persecution either. You live with a mentally physically ill drunk who refuses to get help and manipulates you

You write a blog, have been given great a advice, both public ally and privately
Parties are normal, thinking it is Satan after you for spreading Gods word is not normal, beer at 7 am ..sick sick

Loud parties are not the norm in my neighborhood - ever. It is VERY quiet. That is why we live here. If I wanted loud parties every night I would live in an apartment complex.

You are entitled to your opinion. My logic says if-then every time = reality. Virtually every Handout Eve I have major hassles, in one way or another. I view it as persecution. Did you notice I haven't called you one name, or judged you, in saying that?

I really "appreciated" the drunk man screaming into the megaphone at 11:30 pm. Today, though, the homeowner had to get up at 5 AM and leave for work, so I guess he suffered at least as much as we did.

I don't get the whole concept of having a loud "party" at night when you have small children. I could hear the smaller kids crying their hearts out - scared, for hours. How is that "fun" and celebrating someone's life?

Also, if you read anything written by AA they make a point of saying, if the alcoholic wants to drink - get out of the way. It will just cause conflict.

And, for those who may not read the other post, I wasn't the one drinking.

RE: The Delusions comment

As being someone who has wrestled with both delusions and with actual temptations sent by Satan, I can tell you assuredly that there is a HUGE clinical difference. I can always tell. Before anyone asks, I am Bipolar, but also "certified" stable by my doctor and psychiatrist (I don't have a big stamp on my hand that says "Sane", but if they handed them out, I would..). I'm now able to work full time at a professional job, am married, and do everything else so called "normal" people do.

Yes, many, many, normal, intelligent people believe in Satan. Some of the finest minds in the world, in fact. As Heather has lived with Bipolar her entire life, I think that she knows the difference between a delusion and spiritual persecution. She, too, takes her medication and is stable. She also is frank about when she does have delusions. It also would take a psychiatrist that knew her to declare her delusional, so I don't know how someone on the internet that doesn't know her could do that.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but it bothers me that people automatically assume that those with mental health issues are delusional when the speak about God- or in particular, about Satan. Satan just isn't "fashionable" anymore, it seems. I like what one very devout woman said when someone accused her of being insane due to her devout Catholic beliefs (my denomination, btw..); "If they say I'm insane, fine! I'm in good company. Half the great saints were considered insane!"

:)

On to Heather's topic...

Good golly, your neighbors sound like ours. Only, ours are consistently like that: bonfire parties every night during the summer, drunken people in and out being loud and obnoxious constantly, etc. I have no problem with people having a few drinks on the patio in the summer, but I DO have an issue with loud parties that go on until the wee hours of morning when I have to work!
Yours have a MEGAPHONE??? Saints preserve you. (And, I mean that prayerfully..)

We want to get out of our neighborhood for that reason, among others. We are in a house, but you can hear everything that goes on out there. They have no respect for others.

I know that this is a temptation for me, too, because I often judge them and feel negative towards them. Christ says to love thy neighbor, but it's so hard where I live! I know I need to do better.

I don't think it's anything to do with your neighbors' ethnicity or culture, btw. Ours are super loud and our neighborhood is pretty much predominantly white.

However, many Hispanic people do have extended family over for gatherings once in a while and don't realize how loud it's getting, as they would gladly invite (usually) the neighbors over, too. Have you tried talking to them? At least ask them to lose the megaphone....

I have no doubt that Satan hates the work you are doing. Good! Let him stew. That means, like you said, that you are effective. Satan chases after me all the time. For me, it comes through intrusive thoughts, negativity, doubting, nightmares. (and yes, other poster, there's a big difference between this and my mental health condition). One quote I read that I loved is, "When Satan tries to remind you of your past, remind him of his future!". He's powerless when Christ is there, and He always is.

Praying for you both, as always.
