To the first comment: what did I say in my post? They put stuff out, I didn't take it. That is all I said. I don't have to participate and no one can compel me to do so any more than Ron's agency could make him march in the Gay Pride Parade back in 2000.
During June, I do not eat the rainbow cakes. I do not take the "inclusive" Walmart freebies. That is my response to it all and that is completely within my employment contract and my morals.
If they bring in one of the standard blue and yellow (they always do that for birthdays) "June Birthday" cakes I would try to get some vanilla, with an edge if possible.
I have served gay and trans employees, and customers. I can't say how as that would reveal my job. The only thing I ever did that could be construed "exclusionary" is when I had two gay men making out and feeling each other up, about to go in the family bathroom. I told them I was sorry but that was not allowed they would have to use the men's room. They went "Aww, really?" I looked at them, and they went in the men's room. That was all.
No employee wants to clean up after a sexcapade in the family bathroom. we had one where they broke the sink off the wall. That was a hetero couple I believe.
In exchange I want the same tolerance for MY beliefs. Which I get, pretty much. I may mention a Bible handout in passing or tell someone I will pray for them and they always say "Thanks, Heather"
Also we have to repent (turn from our sin) when we get saved.
All sin is bad, including sexual sin. When Ron and I were living together I was worried sick Jesus would come back and He wouldn't take me.
According to the Bible, you are either married to a person of the opposite sex and in an exclusive sexual relationship with them, or you are celibate. Those are the two choices.
I have known men with gay proclivities who got born again and decided to avoid the community and just live as celibate men. I have decided to be celibate. That may change but I doubt it. So you could say I am on the LGB whatever spectrum as an "A"
While Houston has a gay district (Montrose) it is in Texas.
BARC animal shelter, where I got Torbie, just changed their logo with the "pride" flag. Quite a few comments are outraged - I was sickened, myself - the only sex thing to do with pet rescues should be getting them fixed. And the agency is basically saying go (censored) yourself if you object.
Looks like my next pet is coming from County Pets - they are a badly underfunded county animal shelter.

I give up... Harris County Pets redesigned their logo to reflect the pride flag, as well.
Funny how Starbucks plays both sides, pride in your face but support Israel.
