It's enough to scare anyone off dating
They have had the TV on local news in the break room the last few days and every day there is some sort of domestic violence/stalking murder. It is ghastly.
Not signing up for that!

It's always important to remember that news show are designed, not only to inform, but to sell advertising. Important to remember that they will be somewhat imflamaory to do that. Also, items don't make it onto the news if they are run-of-the-mill daytime situations. They're unusual. Millions of people in your city get thru their days without running into these sort of situations.
You're right to be alert and aware. I personally only read my news, I find the video overwhelming, but I guess that doesn't work too well for a work lunchroom.
You'll be OK, Heather. I personally think you need to get a job closer to home where you don't spend so much time travelling and that should also reduce your exposure to random violence. But you'll do it when you're ready.
