We went to dinner eventually. I was seated next to a "clean-cut" guy who was raving about how all crazy people need to be locked up. Dying to go over and tell him I'm a small business owner, I'm a caregiver, I'm a homeowner. I also happen to have bipolar with schizophrenia on top. So what? Not an issue at all because I take my medication.

Heather you are not a small business owner. You do not own the vending business, Ron does. Once Ron passes or whatever you will no longer have a business. You need to think in this mindset because otherwise you will be screwed when the time comes and it will come. I am concerned you are doing nothing to prepare for this. I hope Ron has a will and has everything left to you. I know at one point you were not even his death beneficiary.
When he had the colon cancer scare we did wills and he left everything to me. For all intents and purposes, I am a co owner. In reality, I'm just a hired lackey. I know that. It was driven home quite brutally after Ron's accident when the program fired me with a one week severance pay. I know I can expect that again.
I know you technically are a co owner and I think it is bull that you would lose the business if ron wasn't involved. My point is that you need to make arrangements for the inevitable.
