The boss was actually happy with my work last night. I think she's figured out I'll do what she tells me, if she tells me. Otherwise I will do the 5 other things she told me were essential to my job. But I did all of it last night and even took a photo.
It was pretty lively.
I wish I could talk a little about it but that would be a very bad idea. Suffice to say I am still wondering when the customers are going to run out of money. Everyone is pushing around an overflowing shopping cart.
I took Dad his gifts. He lost my baby pictures (not his fault) a long time ago. My sister said she had copies. I asked her if she could scan them, make copies, whatever, about 25 years ago. She kept saying she would but never did and it became apparent she was using them as a lever.
Either say you're going to do it, or not. I can't stand that behavior.
She is a hoarder. She made a big production about how she was having to "downsize". Translated, she rents an apartment now since she divorced her husband for being autistic (after 27 years!). I believe the landlord is fed up and gave her an ultimatum on eviction.
She can't live with me (toxic, in cult). Her kids would probably help fund a place to live but dubious they'd take her. They are well acquainted with her hoarding. So she has to purge.
Anyway I got a packet of photos in the mail, a couple dozen. I sent scans to Dad he got very excited. I could tell he wanted the photos. I said I'll mail them but I can only do it (yesterday). That's the only day the Post Office will be open before work. So I left early and went.
I also had another gift for Dad. I put them in Bubble mailers. Happily, their supplies were well stocked so I was able to grab a Priority Mail Flat Rate Medium Box. I love flat rate boxes, they work great, I can stuff a lot in there, and they're sturdy.
I know better than most the kind of abuse a package suffers at the processing center.
So I got everything in there and taped it up. The clerk waved me up. She asked if I used the (for sale) tape and I said no, I brought my own, and showed it to her. I gave her candy with a tract in it. She put it in the system, I paid, I left.
I went to work. Work was actually OK. It went quick.
I got some rice, and some broth, on my way out. I like having a choice of broth to get a meal started. I have a lot of chicken broth (3) and 2 each of vegetable, and beef. 5 pounds of rice and a gallon of broth are not easy on the bus, I was glad I had Ace!
Work issued us silly hats.
I also made a festive cell phone holder for myself.
