Well I'm never going back to the drugstore.
I got up at 3, went back to bed, got up at 6. I left the house around 9:30. I got to the market and got the Mix Dal I wanted (basically mixed varieties of lentil and a small round bean called "Chana Dal"), some spices, etc. They also had some bread - a really nice Naan and some whole wheat pita bread. I spent about $20 (Including the henna, which is back in stock).
I went to the drugstore. My hands have been very dry and cracked. Someone suggested Corn Husker's lotion which I recalled seeing at this store. They had a homeless person blocking the entrance; I went in through the exit door. Another homeless person in the store wrapped in a blanket.
While it was chilly today - in the 40's (about 7-8 C), it wasn't life threatening. I couldn't believe the manager was allowing this. I got over to the right aisle and it was mostly empty. I went to the refrigerated section, opened it, and all the drinks were warm. I could see deli food, dairy products, and eggs at the other end. No thanks, I shut the door and left. I didn't even see any employees.
I went to the discount grocery. I got some nice meat (sausage, beef, chicken). I got some fresh vegetables (kale, peppers), bananas, and frozen vegetables (stir fry mix, and seasoning blend). I got some eggs.
I do pretty well for meals lately but I am lacking on breakfast. So I plan to make some nice meat lover breakfast casseroles. Eggs, beef, pork sausage, cheese. I don't want any potatoes that was a pain. But I did get some of the you-bake biscuits in a can.
I had a little bit of a wait outside. Since it was 40's, windy, overcast, and raining (not hard more of a drizzle) I wore my parka. It did keep me warm and the water off. I think I'm going to wear it next week. I wore my jeans and long underwear under them, a sweatshirt, but it was cold enough I never unzipped the jacket.
The bus driver was happy to get his "lunch" and sincerely wished me a good day when I exited. It wasn't fun walking home but at least I had the cart.
Biscuit has a nemesis; an orange cat lives about a block away. I call him Oscar. He is not neutered. Biscuit hates him, Oscar wants to move in. He has actually come in the house. The residents left the house about a week ago (they were Latino) and now there's an angry looking Asian guy making repairs. I guess they were renting? He has filled up an enormous dumpster with junk. I haven't seen Oscar. I hope he was moved.
I will need to think what to do if they didn't. Biscuit seriously hates this cat; he can't move in. He can probably get fed there are a lot of kind people who feed any cat. I hope they took him but I doubt it. Maybe I can talk to one of the rescue groups, Oscar's a very friendly boy. Anyone would love to have him.
That's it for now.
