Well, I use bill validator cleaning cards. It looks like $1 but it is a sponge, basically, saturated in cleaning fluid. Run it in and out of the validator a couple times, move on to the next machine. They are generally filthy by the time I finish.
I would say, overall, I have a very high acceptance rate. I won't make any money if it won't take any money!

Two, one-dollar bills. One covered in grease, one very worn and washed to the point you can barely tell it's supposed to be $1.
Amazingly, both vending machines accepted and vended the product. Amazingly, the vending machines didn't shut down from taking those bills.
Those are probably the worst 2 I have had in about 20 years of vending.
