Accident day!

I learned a lot about people, like Ron's family had a good presentation the first couple days and then ran like hell.

Chuck, who helped a lot at first, saying things like "I want someone to love me the way you love Ron" then devolving.  That's all I'll say.

My online friends, then and now (save the pest) rallied amazingly and have always been there for me.  People in real life?  Not so much.

The Postal Workers closed ranks, alright, around the driver.  There was a witness to the accident, a mail truck driver - the police officer who investigated told me himself.  They would not give us his name.  I later met that guy's son, who was very hostile to me asking "Why didn't (Ron) stay dead?!"  So they rallied around the 2 men.  That was their choice.

I had to do a lot of forgiving around the accident I won't detail it all, if you've read long enough you'll see it.  January 7 any year is going to be an emotional post.

Work was OK.  I had equipment that didn't work and did a fair amount of bitching how a company that makes billions in profits every quarter can't afford to give us the tools we need.  Payroll is one of the biggest expenses, it's been a long time since I've been an employer but I always wanted them to work efficiently.   Spend a little now, see results on your next earnings report.

It is also demoralizing (an ongoing issue as you know due to management practices in handling associates) to work with crappy, broken, taped up, junked up, equipment.  That employees feel they have to stash supplies in their locker.  And almost everyone does.  I don't, I just have my vest in there with all the crap in my pockets.

So I did a little bitching about how we need another "undercover boss" episode and the things I would tell them.  I was pretty hot.

Nothing that will get me fired and the people I spoke to were basically saying "Yeah, Heather!  You're right!"

Biscuit is growling lets see who it is.

Well, it was Spotty.  And it was this:

You get the idea.  I distributed a few treats all around - the poor black cat had never had a treat in it's life.  It kept trying to come in the window when I'd put out the treats.

Spotty is thinking.  I don't like the cat.  But I get more treats when it's around?  How much do I hate black cats?

Biscuit's fine, ate himself sick on cat treats.  Cleo doesn't care.

Interesting, I thought Cleo would be more territorial.  Maybe because Torbie (a calico Torbie) was very territorial.  But Cleo went from the gutter to my house no stops in between except a couple days at the vet.  She never had to compete for food once she met me.

As you can see from their figures.

The black cat?  Someone is feeding it but it's outside only.  It's out in subfreezing weather, rain, severe weather, etc.  We will see.

It's certainly welcome to come hang out anytime.

But the cats have to do the inviting.  I think she (?) knows I am friendly and kind.

I don't think it is pregnant.

Other things of note, I forgot to put my dinner on.  I had the crock pot in the fridge, the warmer part plugged into the timer and set to "off".  I'm going to cook the beef shank overnight.

I bought some ground chipotle peppers today and they are really good, I see what the fuss is about.  I want to do something with that and some lentils soon.

I have to cook the pork chops tomorrow, probably in the skillet.

That's it for now!
